ECOAT – PowerCron 6100

Electrocoat, also known as ecoat, was developed over 50 years ago primarily to address corrosion issues in the automobile industry. Today, Max Coating applies cathodic epoxy ecoat for a wide variety of customers, including automotive, agricultural, heavy truck, marine, and general industrial suppliers. Ecoat is most noted for its corrosion protection and complete coverage of complex parts, and commonly specified by OEMs as the only approved coating for under-hood and under-body components.

WASH

Parts Washing can be an economical and environmentally friendly solution to removing stamping lubes from manufactured parts, particularly in the automotive industry.

Max Coating uses a 3 Stage Belt Washer

  • Alkaline Cleaner
  • Rinse with RP
  • Air Blow Off

This ensures cleaning of metal stampings, fabricated weldments and other similar components.

 

SHOT BLAST

Shot Blasting is one of the most effective methods of removing weld silicate, rust and debris from metal prior to ecoat.

Many automotive specifications including BMW and Mercedes require pretreatment of welds to ensure proper ecoat adhesion to the entire part surface.

Max Coating uses a Spinner-Hangar shot blast cabinet and steelshot to mechanically clean welds and part surfaces prior to ecoat (when needed) to meet these stricter ecoating requirements.
